A dental implant is a procedure that places artificial tooth roots (metal/screwlike components) into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Implants provide a strong holding base for replacement teeth that are closest to your natural teeth.

Scaling is a procedure for the general removal of hardened plaque and calculus (tartar) on the inner and outer surfaces of the teeth using an ultrasonic cleaning device.
